I can do pretty pages. It's a longish month so I'm assuming the post needs to be ready by Aug. 26 (Fri.) for the last Tues., Aug. 29th.

Summer, for me, it's the best time to read
I created some original book markers. And you are going to see, it's very easy to create them



1/ I create my bookmarks with photoshop. I used Garden Party for this project



Then I printed it twice : one for the background and one to cut elements


2/ I prepare my scrapbooking supplies to create my hybrid bookmarks.
I used white cardstock, glue stick, cissors, 3D autoadhesive foam, dies (notch pattern) with my cuttlebug, black wire


I cut printed bookmarks and i glued them on white cardstock to be thicker


3/ First bookmark :
I cut the lemon jard in the second printed page to glue it on my bookmark.
Before glue it, I added 3D foam on my bookmark


And I glued over the second lemon jard


I added a notch on my bookmark. My bookmark could be hold on a book page.
for this, I used a die to cut the notch with my cuttlebug (dies from Kesi'art)

If you haven't this tool, you can used a cutter to create a notch on your bookmark

My bookmark in my book :


I created 2 others bookmarks with differents notches

4/ Second bookmark :

I added black wire


Then I used 3D foam. Kill two birds in one stone : Grip the wire and glue the button




I cut the notch with another die


My finished bookmark


5/ My third bookmark

I cut happy day tag and I glued it on my bookmark with 3D autoadhesive foam


I create hole with another notch die



My bookmarks are done !

genius! love the little tabs that hold them in place!

Hello, Hello Everyone! Diane (aka dvhoward) here to share with you some of the goodness over at the Pink Reptile Designs gallery at The Lilypad.
The gallery is brimful of gorgeous layouts but I have picked out three to highlight today. Check out my picks:

Sometimes less is more ... don't you agree? Like with this layout by Kate W titled "Zoo". She used the Lilypad August Template Challenge freebie for the bones of her page, but her choice of elements and papers is stunning. I love the way she increased the size of the word Zoo in her title. She skillfully placed some journaling strips over the less interesting part of her photo -- what a great way to use that negative space!

Next comes a lovely page by Lindzee titled "Dream" and that really describes her layout to a "T"! The monochromatic scheme has such a calm and soothing effect. I love that subtle touch of peach color in the background brush. The faint blending of the scene from her photo really extends the feel of the framed part. The heart stitching and the bottom of the photo anchors it perfectly to the page. The staggered, single elements lead the eye from top to bottom with time to linger in the center where the photo is. So pretty....

Last, but not least, is a layout by Vrielinkie titled "Hello Beautiful". Beautiful, it is! The template she used looks like an extension of the photo of a peacock. The paper colors and prints work so well together and they coordinate with the photo looking almost like tail feather. A few elements and paints help balance the circular look of the template. I love the pops of pink against the blue. Her page also shows how well Mirjam's designs work with those of other designers.
