Just so you know, Gaelle made a template for December - so the one I made is now ready to go for Jan - will save you having to do the challenge for this month Rikki!

Karen, January is a challenge month without template. But we can use your template in February so Gaelle doesn't have to make one for it. I will update the Feb calendar thread.

Tutorial: Replacing Title on Journal Card
I recently created this layout documenting my top 10 books of 2020 using Listed, the newest release from Pink Reptile Designs.
I wanted to use one of the templates included in this collection and loved the journaling card and book elements included in one of the templates.
I wanted to replace the title on the included journaling card "All Time Faves" with the wording from this stamp in the element pack.
To do this, I first began to work on erasing the title from the journal card. I selected the off white background color and brushed over the title using that as the foreground color with a hard round brush at 100% opacity.
Then I brought this individual element into Photoshop and made a duplicate copy so I wouldn't make changes to the original element. I then used the magic wand tool to select each letter, holding down the shift key and clicking inside the letters.
I used the move tool to move these selected letters onto the journal card on the template. I then resized and rotated it to place it exactly where I wanted it on the journal card.
I filled in the journal card with the titles of my top ten books of this year.
After completing the layout, I came back to this title and recolored it from light pink to red to help it to stand out more on the layout.
This technique of replacing a title on an element with another comes in quite handy!! It's also a great way to enhance your stash and use your elements creatively.

sorry, it's been a disrupted start to the year (not in a bad way thankfully) but haven't been home much, I'm about to go away for the weekend for my baby brother's 50th so won't have the inspo post done until the 11th (our time) but that should be in time for the post to go out. Was thinking about doing something about lists to tie in with BYOC this month.

Hi everyone, Hope the start to 2021 has been safe and peaceful where you are. There is so much talk about how utterly dreadful 2020 has been and rightly so. What to do when you are documenting such a year? Absolutely, the awfulness of the year should be scrapped but today I am aiming for a more positive spin on the year. Time to look back on the good things that happened last year and make a list of what you are looking forward to this year.
This month’s BYOC Listed kit makes this a snack, and I have decided to do near identical pages for last year and this year with some symbolic changes between the two. Using a single kit this way makes it easy to get a tied together look with noticeably different outcomes.
Firstly, even though this page highlights the positives that came out of last year, the colour scheme is muted, the elements are kept simple, nothing extravagant here because, it can't be avoided - it was a pretty dire year and that should be reflected in some way here. All these outcomes from last year make me smile and remeber some lovely things that happened, nothing grand and that's ok! Last year we learnt to take pleasure in small but significant parts of our lives.
2021 we are hoping will be a much more joyous year and the colourful page lends itself towards this more hopeful future. The flowers and spring colours are associated with a new start, something we desperately need! The list itself is pretty general because if it is one thing we have learnt this year, is it doesn’t take much to unravel well thought out plans so this feels doable at this stage (maybe the happy news is a bit out of my hands though!)
So start thinking about making your own reflective list as well as hat you are looking forward to these coming months. Also try for an all positive list, it does make you feel just a tiny bit better, I promise you!

One of my favorite technique is to cut pattern inside paper.
I created two cards inspired with bullet journal designs. I love when the drawning is splited inside two parts by a title, like these examples found on pinterest :
To create my design, I cut leaves inside pattern papers I used these two papers (I love them !), to cut leaves : From Drawn to you|papers and Sprunge|papers
Then I glued a pink circle (from Madness | Add-On Dividers) and two leaves from Sprung|papers in creating a space between to insert after my title
I added some additional leaves (from Drawn To You|papers) :
To finish I added my title/feeling on my card (from If only|elements):
I created another card in the same style : Products used : WA ans star (If only), B&W paper used for triangle (Wildflower/papers), Green paper (from So-Here-s-The-Story|papers)

When there's a template challenge, could someone (a) give me a heads-up and (b) give me a download link for the psd file so I can make a page file version to be included for challenge participants? Also I need to know the size of the finished layout if not a standard 12x12.
Thanks in advance!

Every other month is a template month, i.e. Feb, Apr, Jun....
The download link is always in the thread in the forum where the challenge is posted so the team can download the template ahead of time. That usually happens 15 days before the challenge goes on the blog. Does this give you enough time? Sorry for my ignorance, I don't know how complicated it is to make .page files. Just let us know.

Hi everybody, Cindy here. January is my favorite month at The Lilypad forum: I love participating in the Month of Challenges, and the Gallery is bursting with inspiration. I found so many pretty pages in the Pink Reptile Designs gallery, and it was difficult to narrow it down to three choices.
My first choice is "Chatty Kenzie" by community member @tjscraps. I just love the cute photo and the awesome background paper. A precious page to remember that special time.
"Ballerina in the mirror" by @spcoggs really popped out for me in the gallery. The creativity of the photo is amazing, plus it features my most favorite PRD paper. I love the simple design of the page, with the few elements and the carefully selected colors to match the photo.
My final choice is "Arboretum" by @LeeAndra. How fun is this title? I love the little details, and the marching ladybugs are just so cute! Awesome creative page!
Keep scrapping and uploading your pages in the PRD gallery, for a chance to be spotlighted in a next blog post!
