My post on my project life

Several years ago, I created a project life. I stopped this kind of keeper memories by lack of time. But this year I decided to begin again. It’s one of my resolutions.
The goal of a project life is to keep daily memories on one year.
The project life could be named project 52 weeks or 365 project. The idea is the same : Document our life day after day, week after week.

You could find on the Web different style or type of project life :
The most known is an album with pockets. We use journaling card and photos to fill the pocket page. This kind of project life is perfect for novice, because the structure is done. We need find “only” journaling card and photos to fill pockets.
You could find here all journaling cards from PinkReptileDesigns store : http://the-lilypad.com/store/Pink-Reptile-Designs/?catid=314

You could find Project life with little pockets or big pockets

Some Project life are a lot of journaling, another less
Example :
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 6794ecb4459c41c4cec05daa330021d6
By Carly Robertson (http://paisleepress.com/2013/10/carly-robertson-my-project-life-process/)

By Stephanie (http://paisleepress.com/2013/08/stephanies-project-life-week-32/)

You could find C & S style, or free style
For example :
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 378c51543a1bceef2fbb136728fa5e53
By Mumkaa (http://projectlifecafe.blogspot.fr/2015/03/entrevista-mumkaa.html)

Obviously, there are digital versions or paper versions
For example this project life that is very creative and original. It’s a hybrid project life, in C&S style
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 15b2540ba2cae8f364cde79ac805d9d4
By Catherine from green fingerprinting (http://green-fingerprint.com/blog/project-life-week-13)

I will give some rules to help you in your project life, because, if you want do a 52 weeks, it’s not really easy to begin

The main rule of a project life is to create a Project life that looks like yourself, looks like to your style, your inspiration. Event if you couldn't finish the year!

For mine I choose hybrid format.
I created each week in digital format and at the end of the year I printed all them on a book.

Another rule is the harmony. Harmony between your several week pages, and harmony inside each page.
Indeed, you have to choose one or two elements that they will be on your all pages. These elements common theme will create a balance on your complete project.
This project life has the same presentation of week number for example :
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 D49478511186a10c5bddad98d14dfd2a
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 Bc76a5ad703aa3d694cd3189c66a4eab
By le Scrap d’Amélie (http://lescrapdamelie.blogspot.fr/2014/09/project-life-dt-cat-file.html)

But you could find other elements like background paper, black and white photos, pocket format …

Harmony inside each page is very important too.
You need find papers and elements in correspondence with your photos. That’s why many person prefer used black and white photos because it’s easier to created an harmony page, because all colours go with B&W photos
For example, this project life page. We see that Iggydodi choose green and brown papers and elements to be in balance with her photos :
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 Bc3833f61e587533b0e57a0ab509d1ec
By Iggydodie (http://scrappadingue.over-blog.com/2015/07/quelques-pages-project-life.html?utm_source=_ob_share&utm_medium=_ob_pinterest&utm_campaign=_ob_sharebar)

You could play with colours but on theme on your page too.
For example in this double page, I used It’s a zoo | elements to decorate my page
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 Full?d=1447287720

My choices:
I find that the pocket format is too strict for me. I need blank space to create my page and adapt decoration with my photos.
To help me to keep the balance, I created a template.
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 Templa10

I choose a unique background kraft paper (from Naturelle | papers) as common theme element.
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 113

My template has masks (Masquerade n°2) and fixe elements as tag where I noted the date (If only | elements)
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 213

To bind all elements of my page, I need something. so, I decided to use gesso (Gesso it) :
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 313

I added star-shaped sequins :
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 413

And I added a tag where note the date / week number or month. This tag will be the same on all my pages of 52 weeks album (tag from If only | elements):
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 514

Then, I symbolized two places for my photos with grey squares
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 613

And to finsih my template I added strip of white paper for my journaling :
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 713

To decide to write all my journaling with “Throw My Hands Up” font

My template was done.

At the end of the first week, I created my first page of my album
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 813

My finished page, created with If only | elements
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 1pf10

And my page for the second week :
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 2pr10

In December, I'll show you my completed project life, once printed on a book.

God, those sample pages are all so beautiful. I find PL pages extremely difficult. The photos usually don't match and it is hard to tie them all together without editing them heavily or making them b/w. I was planning to do weekly or bi-weekly spreads this year with the pocket templates of Anna Aspnes because I love their style, but now seeing the page from Mumkaa I am having second thoughts. I think this year I will never get started because I can't decide on how to go about it.

Yes, totally agree !
My photos usually don't match with pockets, that's why I choose other style.
I love products from Anna Aspnes but I don't know her pocket templates. I'm going to see them ^^

Thank you Jenn

Anna's pocket templates are called FotoInspired and they have tons of masks, but arranged in a pocket style. They really are perfect for people who want artsy pocket pages.

Here's Pretty pages for this month - a treasure trove - I have chosen 4 - hope that is ok.

Hey Everybody! It has been such a big month with the MOC over at The Lilypad and a wonderful Template challenge here on the blog! So much to look at.
How is everyone going with the Month of Challenges? It is the height of summer here, school holidays mean I have little scrapping time so am resigned to the fact that I may never finish a MOC but I have completed a record number of pages this year (for me anyway) so all is good!
I have loved looking through the constantly changing gallery, so many new faces and pages to admire, in total awe of the many and varied talents that are popping up! Let’s have a look at a few that have caught my eye this month.

Scrumptious has taken the simple template from MOC day 20 and made a special page. I love that she has a light touch with her elements, highlighting her photos but not overwhelming them. The silhouette photo with the sun playing on the water on the right is such a strong image. Love it!
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 Full?d=1516479444

This page from Timbenmami caught my eye with the gorgeous pop of orange on a kraft background. Then I saw the photo – so funny and cool at the same time! The shadowing is wonderful, the vellum tag tucked away and the arrows all highlight a fun memory!
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 Full?d=1516453676

I’ve noticed a recurring favourite from Mirjam this month in the gallery – Baker’s Gonna Bake - a lot of people have used this fun kit to make their pages and this is one of the best – Heidi Nicole, her family and macaroons – what’s not to like there?  Again, it’s the little touches that make this page special – the cluster of a flower, string and the tiny measuring spoons is so cute as well as balancing the page so well. And the little sketch of the rolling pin being used as a date stamp, such a fine idea!
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 Full?d=1515965259

Finally, I could not go past this one from Pitiscrap – pared back to it’s absolute basics – it is a work of art – much like it’s subject… The monochromatic colour scheme and the fonts are just perfection. I wish I could do this but I do not have the willpower and I always have to add more…
Jan Blog Calendar |2018 Full?d=1516475632

Have a lovely month, have fun finishing off your MOC and don't forget to play along with our challenge for the month!
